More items for fundraising

July is about to end and I really need to see if I am able to save a lot for postage for Christmas distribution. So I have added a few more items to my fundraising drive sale. If there is anything you like, please make a purchase as proceeds goes to a very worthwhile cause.
1) Two more books on Kids and Jewellery - Click on the image to check them out -
2) D-I-Y Craft Kits. Knit your own teddy bear and braid craft kit - Click on the image to check them out -
3) Sisterhood of Purple Block Panels. These panels is over 10 years old. I must have saved it for future use and totally forgot about it until yesterday when I found them in a box. I do not think I have the time to make something out of it so I have decided to sell. Proceeds will make disadvantaged kiddies happy instead of just keeping them in my drawer. Click on the image to check these block panels -
I found a lot of handmade magazines and special issues. Some of these have only been read once or knowing me and my schedule I probably just bought it and didnt have a chance to look at all the pages of the magazines. At first I was thinking of just dropping them off in charity bins but then I realized if these magazines were to be sold by the charity shops I might as well sell them myself and raise money out of it as I also desperately need funds. At a dollar or two plus postage of $2.10, I can see myself earning about 40 dollars from these publications. So once I have taken pictures of each of these magazines, I will be posting them in my Dress A Girl Australia shop for anyone to browse and make a purchase if they like one -
These magazines are not just on sewing or quilting. There are also magazines on bagmaking, cardmaking and papercrafting. Quite a selection and proceeds goes to a very worthwhile cause.

Please help spread the word around!

No more paper patterns and/or labels

If Greece is refusing to follow austerity measures to improve their situation, Dress A Girl Australia is extremely following the austerity measures it has imposed to be able to sustain this campaign. So I would like everyone to know that I am no longer providing paper copies of patterns and/or Dress A Girl Labels. Links on patterns can be found in my blog under the section Tutorials - How to make dresses and a document you can use to print labels if you want to. These could be small items only but when in huge quantities the costs are huge on stamps, paper, inkjet cartridges and even petrol so I could drop off mails. For everyone's info. Thank you.

Dress Distribution #97 re-routed to South Africa

I have decided to re-route the dresses collected and intended for Cambodia (Phnom Penh)  to South Africa. The recipient in Cambodia is hard to contact and I cannot send them unless proper communication is established.

Fundraising Drive Sale

Help make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged kids. Support Dress A Girl Australia's campaign to continue providing clothing to the less fortunate by helping raise money for the cost of shipping and handling of parcels. Dress A Girl Australia has no major financial sponsors but relies on selling unwanted items in my garage and my small handmade business to financially support this campaign. So please check out what am selling and if there is anything you like, make a purchase. All proceeds goes to a very worthwhile cause.
Thank you and please help spread the word around.

More Books added to the CraftBook Fundraising Drive Sale

I have added more craftbooks to the fundraising drive sale. All these books are new and some are hard to find. Please check them out and make a purchase if there is anything you like. They are being sold on an "almost-giving them-away-for-free" sale prices just so I would be able to raise enough money for postage. Unfortunately as others have enquired, I cannot give free postage for the books. It defeats the purpose of my fundraising especially that the price of the book is almost the same price I will have to pay for sending them to buyers Australia-wide.
For those who are interested, please click here to check on more details of these books. And don't forget the Betty Alderman designs on sale as well which are available here. Sale will go on until supplies last. Thank you.

Made to Match Dresses : Batch 1 - 9-Jul-2015

I sold my first craft book (Fast Fabric Gifts) and two Betty Alderman Designs yesterday to raise money for postage to help pay for the cost of shipping and handling of dresses I plan to distribute for Christmas. Unless I have the money to spend for postage I will not be able to start a new dress collection. There is no point of collecting if I cannot give them away.

As I have mentioned earlier that for every craftbook and/or sewing and quilting pattern I sell for the drive I will match it with a dress, here are the first 3 dresses I made last night.
Thank you for helping me in making a difference to the lives of the disadvantaged. Your support and purchase of items for the fundraising drive is very much appreciated.

Fundraising Drive Sale

It is time to think about Christmas and the distributions to make. This will not be possible if I do not have the funds to pay for the cost of distributions. The $2.00 per dress I am asking from donors is not enough with the rising cost of postage and handling. And not everyone is happy to make a gold coin donation per dress. They just want to make dresses. Unless I am able to raise the funds I need to make a distribution,  I will not be able to start a new dress collection project. So I am having a fundraising drive by selling craft books and Betty Alderman sewing and quilting patterns at prices so low that it is almost being given away. Hope there would be people out there who would like to make a purchase and help make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged kids this coming Christmas.

If there is anything you like, please make a purchase. More items will be added once I have organized and sorted the items I am selling on sale. Thank you.

My heartfelt thanks to all the individual sponsors who found it in their hearts to sponsor dresses which I sew on their behalf including those individuals who donated for their birthdays, christmas presents and I was able to raise the money($5,000) needed to sponsor the cost of building the well. What a difference the water from the well has made to the people/community of Kalagi Uganda.
Sponsored dresses were distributed as part of the school kits to some of the 500 school children in the Philippines last month(June Distribution #94). Thanks everyone!

More pictures from dress distribution #94. Due to the number of children (500 of them) that were present during the actual distribution of school kits and dresses, they managed to get only a few pictures kids wearing dresses and also the dresses were inside the kits.
